the challenge
After most project scope designs were locked in and committed to with DELWP who were providing BREEF funding towards the project, a significant Ammonia leak was detected in the site’s refrigeration system requiring the replacement of the Evaporative Condenser. Budget originally intended for our project was going to be pulled in favour of these necessary works.
The solution
Instead of scrapping the project and funding, CCA discussed and agreed with both the customer and DELWP to re-cut the scope of the project, maintaining energy savings but incorporating the new condenser into the scope of Refrigeration upgrades.
The results
The scope was successfully delivered despite considerable supply chain issues due to COVID, and both energy savings and safety requirements were met through replacement of the Evaporative Condenser.
