the challenge
Shortly after the commencement of our energy performance contract, the customer announced that the site would be undergoing an extension, increasing its throughput and extending its operating hours. The timeline for the upgrade was extremely aggressive and meant that some of our project scope would be executed in parallel to other works on site, all in an LGA where COVID restrictions were extremely stringent.
The solution
Climatech Zero had to adapt quickly – liaising with the Customer project team to ensure that modifications to compressed air pipework and other systems would remain fit for purpose after the production increase. Without requiring changes to project costs, CZ adjusted scope packages, absorbing some new work and removing scope items that no longer fit the site needs
The results
Our project management team were issued a safety award by the customer in recognition of their excellent management of all COVID-related requirements, as well as delivering safe, high quality workmanship on all scope. Target savings were achieved and demonstrated for the NSW government who provided a grant towards the works.
