the challenge
During the execution of our energy savings project on site, there were catastrophic failures of 2 (out of 5) air compressors. One was not repaired, the other was replaced with a different compression technology, altering the energy intentsity of the respective compressors on site
The solution
This change (from a centrifugal compressor to a Varible Speed Rotary Screw) required a complete rework of the control design that CCA had finalised for the original compressor configuration.
The results
The savings for the site were delivered despite last minute changes to the operating conditions and system design. The chiller for whilled water supply was also replaced as part of the project, delivering a high-efficiency chiller to replace the old, oversized current one on site.
